Alternative voices, new points of view

We live in an increasingly uncertain world.  As a multicultural society, we are connected to every part of the world. As digital citizens, we are connected with each other more than ever before. These connections can make us stronger and bring us closer together as a community. They can also expose us to a world that is increasingly prone to hate and polarisation.

As the world faces unprecedented challenges, The New Point Magazine is here to navigate them with you. Through well-researched articles, expert commentary and insightful youth perspectives, we aim to spark conversations that lead to positive change.

The New Point Magazine is supporting new writers to find balance in an unbalanced world. We provide mentoring and training for young writers and content producers. We provide a platform for young people to address sensitive issues in a safe, non-sensationalised context.

The New Point Magazine is funded by the NSW Government under the Multicultural NSW COMPACT Program. As a COMPACT strategic communications initiative, The New Point Magazine aligns with, and amplifies, the aims of the COMPACT Program to inspire and empower young people to stand up and stand united against hate as champions for community harmony.

Three individuals, two women and one man, members of the Ibrahim family and survivors of the Christchurch terror attack, are standing side by side. The women are wearing hijabs; one in a lavender scarf and floral dress, and the other in a golden headscarf and white outfit. The man in the center is dressed in a black traditional garment with a white cap. All have calm but sorrowful expressions and are looking directly at the camera.
